The Hermit and the King
Through the woods the hermit strolled
His heart was wise, though body old
He walked until the break of night
Then laid to rest, his payment tolled
But as he lay, he saw a light
A fire burning, fair and bright
He walked to it, for thought of sleep
But lay before him quite a sight
There sat a king, with folly deep
His pride plenty, and trust most cheap
In the light, the hermit he did see
And beckoned forth, a talk to reap
Said boy to man “Come, look at me
I’m ruler of the ancient tree
Of brightest sky and ocean clear
Of mountains high and deepest sea”
Said man to boy “Now listen here
Heed my words and hold them dear

The Man From Dundee
There once lived a man in Dundee
Who thought he'd been stung by a bee
And with a great shout
He pulled his hand out
Of the hive where he looked for honey
The Light by all was once known
from ancient tree to riverstone
From city great and village plain
that was, until the Darkness came
No mountain high, nor lowest place
could resist its sweet embrace
The women wailed, the men did weep
The wolves ran into forest deep
The children sobbed into their beds
That was, until the Darkness said;
¨Dear sweet children, why do you fright?
Can you love only the Light?
I am nothing for you to fear
Please sweet children, shed no tears¨
The children rose, still afraid
Yet in one bed a child still laid
¨Oh Dark Spirit, of great might
why did you take away the Light?¨
¨His power faltered,

Questions To God
When we come to the end
round the final bend
Will I hear those angels sweet?
Is it God that I’m to meet?
Nay, is darkness all our fates?
Is death something to hate?
God.
I hear those preachers preach
but wonder if they teach
the truth or just more lies
Does God hear the people’s cries?
Should we love the old and youth?
Should we be seekers of the truth?
If he’s a high and mighty being,
does he see those not worth seeing?
Is he fair and is he just?
Is he one that we can trust?
Does he hear our cries at night?
Will he lead us to the light?
If he’s loving and all knowing
can he feel the sadness growing?
Can he feel sorrow
In darkest night, and lowest day
In dawning light, and breaking ray
Love calls softly, from the fray
To turn to white what once was grey
When hearts lay heavy with despair
She leads them with her gentle care
She mends the wound, fixes the tear
And in time will all pain repair
Her sisters Joy and Truth and Peace
From Western to’ers to cities East
They soothe the wild savage beast
And give to souls of men Their Feast
Together side by side they roam
From castle great to sylvan home
In light of sun, and church’s dome
The write Life into Time’s Great Tome
Joy sows the brilliant seeds of Light
She keeps the Fire burning bright
